For this festive season, Lane Crawford invited five local artists, including Cynthia Mak to create striking and meaningful sustainable Christmas tree displays to motivate change and present a new way of looking at tried-and-true traditions.
The inspiration for Cynthia's tree comes from her series of “Geometric Characters”. Taking the character ‘樂’ meaning ‘joy’ which fits perfectly with the Christmas vibe, Cynthia deconstructed the character, taking shapes and angles that resemble a traditional Christmas tree. Carefully constructed with Corrugated cardboard , Cynthia uses her signature vibrant colours to bring out a fun and unconventional Christmas tree hoping it can bring happiness to people around.
